Edgar Degas

Edgar Degas was a prolific fine deviceist; best cognise for his paintings, he was also a photographer and sculptor (May, p. 72-75). Although his mediums were continually changing, his concepts remained consistent throughout each of his art whole works. Edgar Degas formed his art based on what he experienced and saw just about him and devoted most of these art works to his view of womens objectification by society, men, and other women.

The Salon was comprised of artists, critics, the public, and a grace of judges. It was this panel of judges that approved or discarded art for the annual Salon exhibit.
