The ethnic group that I broadly speaking identify with is African Americans. The reason being is that I am an African American, and as a child I office to love to listen to my grandmother tell me stories about our heritage and the struggle that we make overcome over the past decades.
In the early 1600s African Americans were brought to the linked States on boats by early settlers. Many people believe that we have begun to emigrate in the mid to late 1700s but we have actu on the wholey begun to colonize during those years in order to drive for our freedom. The American Colonization Society (ACS) was formed in 1817 to localize free African-Americans to Africa as an alternative to emancipation in the United States. (www.loc.gov) During and after slavery times African American has been victims of all three situations. As a people we have face up racism, prejudice, as well as segregation.



The segregation began as before long as we arrived in America, we were not treated embodyly and everything was carve up into whites and negros. The racism and prejudice began in the slavery days as well, because back then African Americans were considered not to be an equal counterpart to the whites, they were considered to be below them and were treated as such.
over the years African American has become affected by the many types of discrimination. The dual labor market affected African Americans for many years. Many African Americans were giving jobs that pay was so low that they really could not afford to take apportion of their families, which meant that they had to work two or three jobs to make ends meet. The environmental justice issues have also caused an effect on African Americans.
