Vulnerable Population in the Workplace Report
The emergency live has a senior high incident and increased acuity of psychiatric patients. Emergency room nurses have little tolerance for this population and have developed mold that can issue in this population receiving lacking(predicate) care. Emergency rooms experience overcrowding and many emergency nurses study fatigue, over worked, and frustrated in dealing with the psychiatric patient. They cannot without delay fix this populations illness as in medical treatment. This field of study identifies parti pris and apathetic attitudes that create barriers to positive mental wellness outcomes. It includes concepts that can implement Watsons Theory of Caring and healing(predicate) communication to facilitate healing in a pencil eraser environment while providing compassionate care.
Focus of the discombobulate
The focus of this Project is to educate staff sentience of attitudes toward the psychiatric patient. Increase awareness of vulnerability and identify psychiatric patient as a vulnerable population. Bias toward this vulnerable population can result in inadequate care when presenting to the emergency department because of cast out or apathetic attitudes by the nursing staff (Camilli & adenine; Martin, 2005, p. 313).



Bias develops from the experiences that staff has in life. According to De Chesnay and Anderson Ethnocentric bias is a term derived from anthropology and refers to the notion that ones give birth cultural beliefs, practices, folkways, values, and norms are the right ones (p. 453). It is learned in the employment and the education in this project can decrease the bias toward this population and decrease barriers to care.
Results
The result of this educational project has resolved barriers to this population receiving adequate, compassionate care in the emergency setting.
