Poverty is a very big problem that affect many people especially those who come from very poor countries. The level of poverty in such countries is very high such that some families might at times be forced to go without food for days.

The main cause of increased poverty among these people is due to the fact that the region is very dry. There are various methods that can be adopted by the government to help in reducing the poverty levels amongst these individuals.
An example is by educating the poor people on alternative methods of growing crops even when there is limited rainfall. This can be done by undertaking irrigation. Boreholes can also be drilled in such areas to increase on the amount of water available for irrigation. Another method of helping such people is by encouraging them to try other methods of realizing self sustenance.
