Diversity

diversity If I had to sum the definition of diversity up in one word, it would be multicultural. This includes people from all ages, genders, heathen groups, and their languages. We find this in classrooms all over the world. Being diametrical has its advantages. In a classroom, the savants goat learn from one some other with the information they know and/or may not know. This can be very beneficial to all (including the teacher). Being unalike also has its disadvantages. The students get teased a lot for be antithetic. They may not have the finer things in life, draw from a poor neighborhood, or do not plow the same language as you. Things like this cause students to degenerate school, and eventually drop out. According to the article written by Stephen Krashen, when schools provide students quality education in their primary language, they eat them two things: knowledge and literacy. One positive example of student diversity in the classroom is---cultural awareness (Gorski, V., 2012). As I mentioned above, the students can learn from one another of the different cultures deep down the classroom. One negative example is---cultural identity (Gorski, V., 2012). The students may opinion like an outsider because history of their native-culture is not shared at heart the class.

With our diverse population increasing, educators must develop radical pedagogical structures which provide students with the opportunity to use their own reality as a basis for literacy (Canestrari & Marlowe, p. 155). The teacher needs to agree the students feel comfortable in the environment. They should develop lesson plans that incorporate the different cultural backgrounds and so all the students can be knowledgeable and successful. References Canestrari, A. S. & Marlowe, B. A. (2006).
