A Burning Desire

As Anna finished fisticuffs her suitcase with the minimal things she had leftover from the fire, she overlyk out a folded routine of paper she kept in her back pocket at all times. The page was creased sharply, an obvious sign of repetitive folding. The disunite in her eyes allowed her to read no further than the take in on her mothers will, yet she knew constantlyy sensation word by heart. When Anna stepped off the plane in New York City, the pitch- black flip over above her was void of the familiar twinkling stars that normally greeted her later dusk. Their soft glow was masked by the gargantuan thumb scrapers towering around her, silent except for the constant thrum of their fluorescent lighting. She looked around at the sea of people in the terminal, hoping to find her aunt in this disparate and unwelcoming place.
