All immigrants who strike to this country come with a dream, a dream that becomes increasingly more and more difficult to achieve. My own experience as an immigrant was hard; I decided to come to the United States feel for a dream. About five years ago, my mom brought me to the U.S. together with my dad and my two brothers. All my life I had follow in my country, Dominican Republic. Therefore, the only language I know was the Spanish. My dream always was to come to United States to study medicine. I wanted to be a pediatrician. But I agnise that medicine is a long career that requires to much exertion and time.
I was not ready for this because I did not speak any English at that time. So I forgot about this career and began to study and learn English. First, I started to study in a school program where I only would flummox the GED as a diploma, and where I never would be equal to learn any English. I knew that in two minute of arc of class everyday would not be sufficient to improve my English as I wanted. I need a full time school schedule. I felt sad. I knew that in that school I would not be adequate to(p) to achieve my dreams, I wanted to be more machinate and educated. I just drop out of school and a few months after, I entered to Woodrow Wilson high school in Camden, where I only stay for three months.
