Cloud Computing Basics

loud compute is everywhere. Pick up any tech magazine or visit nearly any IT
website or blog and youll be for sure to crack talk about cloud computation. The only
problem is that not everyone agrees on what it is. Ask ten different professionals
what cloud computing is, and youll take a shit ten different answers. And is cloud computing
even worth every last(predicate) the hype? Some people dont think of so. In fact, in 2008 Oracle CEO Larry
Ellison chastised the whole anesthetise of cloud computing, saying that the confines was overused
and being applied to everything in the computer world.
The computer industry is the only industry that is to a greater extent fashion-driven than womens
fashion, he said to a group of Oracle analysts.
So lets talk about what cloud computing is and tighten up our definition and
understanding of this implementation.

Cloud Computing Overview
In this first section, well talk about what cloud computing is, and how it is developed and
deployed. Well clear up some misconceptions and make sure we all in all have a common
understanding of the topic.

Cloud computing gets its name as a metaphor for the Internet. Typically, the Internet is
represented in network diagrams as a cloud, as shown in Figure 1-1. The cloud icon
represents all that other stuff that makes the network work. Its kind of resembling etc. for the
rest of the solution map. It also typically mover an area of the diagram or solution that is
