A mathematician is simply a person whose primary theatre of study and/or research is the field of mathematics. Math mathematicians buns study tons of different types of math. Airy lived from July 27, 1801- January 2, 1892. British Astronomer Royal, born at Alnwick on the twenty-seventh of July 1801. On the 1st of October 1824 he was elected fellow of Trinity, and in celestial latitude 1826 was appointed Lucasian professor of mathematics in succession to doubting Thomas Turton. This chair he held for little more than a year, be elected in February 1828 Plumian Professor of Astronomy and director of the sensitive Cambridge observatory.
