Lester Burnham is the husband to Carolyn Burnham and take to Jane. This family of three has a very constrained relationship; Jane hates her father, Carolyn and Lester sleeps unneurotic but no longer have any insinuate husband and wife relationship. Their dinners were never really something that they look prior to but yet were almost forced. Almost like a torture it was to Jane and Lester with the continuous repetition of the same song during every dinner by Carolyn. Lester meets his daughters friend, Angela during a basketball game match and immediately he becomes infatuated over her. He starts fantasizing her being naked with red roses. On the other hand, Carolyn starts to have an affair with her ultimate crinkle rival, Buddy Kane. She is copiousy aware that her relationship with her husband is nonentity but blank and empty, therefore she seeks happiness outside, and in in particular from someone who is highly successful in the same subscriber line of career.
Jane however falls for her new neighbour, Ricky who is a secret marijuana smoker and drug dealer. Lester ends up as one of Rickys client later on in the film.
